Recent Training on Last Planner System

Highlights from Our Recent Last Planner System Training Event

We recently hosted a dynamic training session focused on the Last Planner System (LPS)—a powerful collaborative planning tool grounded in lean construction principles. This event united professionals from diverse roles to explore how structured planning and commitment-based scheduling can dramatically improve project delivery.

A Hands-On, Interactive Learning Experience

Rather than relying solely on theory, the training immersed participants in interactive modules designed to promote critical thinking and real-world application. Guided by our expert facilitators, attendees explored the key elements of LPS, including:

  • Master Planning
  • Phase Planning
  • Lookahead Planning
  • Weekly Work Planning
  • Daily Huddles and Percent Plan Complete (PPC) Metrics

By connecting these core principles to real project scenarios, we ensured that participants could confidently apply what they learned in their day-to-day roles.

Learning Through Simulation

To reinforce these concepts, attendees took part in two structured simulation sessions. These exercises recreated typical planning challenges found on job sites, enabling participants to experience the value of collaborative problem-solving in action.

During these sessions, teams were challenged to:

  • Plan tasks using pull planning techniques
  • Make and manage reliable commitments
  • Navigate workflow constraints in real-time
  • Reflect on performance and identify opportunities for improvement

As a result, participants didn’t just learn LPS—they lived it. The simulations fostered deeper understanding, stronger team dynamics, and a more practical grasp of lean construction strategies.

Engaged Participation and Meaningful Discussion

Throughout the day, the enthusiasm and engagement were truly remarkable. Each team shared their takeaways during debriefs, highlighting the importance of trust, transparency, and accountability in successful planning.

Moreover, our open Q&A sessions encouraged participants to voice their challenges and explore potential solutions together. These conversations revealed a genuine eagerness to adopt LPS principles across current and future projects.

Looking Forward

This training marks another step in our ongoing journey toward lean transformation and continuous improvement. We’re excited to see how participants apply their knowledge to enhance project outcomes—and we remain committed to offering more engaging, hands-on events in the near future.
